Christine: That's right. He knows you're talking about him right

Rah: Exactly. It's just like my Cats, they

Rah: know what I'm talking about. them, And

Rah: then they gimme a look of like, whatcha talking about Willis?

Emily: And then they ignore you with all their superpowered

Emily: ears.

Rah: Exactly. Exactly.

Christine: you said food or walk. That's the only things he

Emily: only two in his

Christine: Yep.

Rah: Yes. And please trip over this couch. and break your toe for me.

Christine: that's right.

Christine: Yes.

Emily: The things that happen. Things you do for your animals.

Christine: Yeah,

Rah: So how we doing?

Christine: Yeah.

Emily: Oh look.

Rah: it's a normal day, right? Nothing's happening today.

Emily: weird to have children with me.

Christine: It is. It's school holidays, so you know, Mr. 18 was still in bed when I left to come up here to the

Rah: oh, what a joy.

Emily: all those days. I know I can't even sleep in anymore. So depressing.

Rah: I know

Rah: Say I'm getting more and more like that,

Rah: and I don't even have kids. to,

Emily: I can't say past eight, like, and like eight's pushing it as well.

Emily: especially once.

Emily: the tiny people are up, they make enough noise, especially the old one who's still talking.

Emily: And even though he knows he should shut um, makes so much noise that I, it's like pings be awake every time.

Emily: Mm. So super fun.

Rah: Yeah, it's great.

Emily: Yeah, it's great.

Emily: Yeah, Wonderful.

Rah: Mm. Aging is

Emily: It

Emily: is. I know. It's still delightful, isn't it? It's just so

Christine: As a person who's not slept past, really, you know, easily past 6, 6 30 in her, uh, entire life. And as I get older, I hate to think, I don't wanna be the, you know, the older person waking up at 5:00 AM Not at

Rah: Yeah. Mm.

Christine: at Yeah.

Christine: Yeah.

Christine: Anyway, we'll just watch

Emily: I know.

Emily: Yay life guys. Yay. Life.

Rah: So good. We're so good. Yeah.

Christine: Yeah, totally.

Emily: This is a little bit.

Emily: of a sad episode.

Rah: Yeah,

Rah: I'm

Rah: avoiding it. too, right now

Emily: I know.

Christine: Absolutely.

Emily: Are brewing. in the house of Podcast land that we live in. And the collective land. that we live in. And it's not, it's a sad thing, but it's

Emily: not a bad thing. It's a good thing.

Emily: um, do you wanna tell?

Emily: everyone what's going on?

Rah: Sure.

Rah: Okay.

Rah: God, it sounds

Rah: like I'm

Rah: gonna tell you. well, I've got a tumor. Like

Christine: Yeah. No,

Emily: I have five minutes to live.

Emily: Not a bad thing.

Rah: Look, just throw in the auntie in, um,

Rah: kindergarten cop. It's not a tumor. Please tell

Rah: me you've seen that movie.

Rah: Emily. I know.

Emily: the Swartz niggas in it.

Emily: I don't think, I've

Christine: oh my

Rah: It is such a great movie. Boys

Rah: have a penis girls have a vagina. Yeah.

Christine: Thank you for telling me.

Emily: some

Rah: Oh, sorry. Yes, he,

Rah: Ella's face is like, they've got What

Emily: No,

Emily: She, Do you know how often this little one goes

Emily: oh, Harry,

Emily: Stop hitting Me in my balls.

Emily: And I was like, babe, you

Emily: don't have balls.

Rah: Ours are internal?

Rah: kiddo.

Emily: She knows She doesn't too. Or She'll be like, mom, my willy. I'm like, you don't have one of those either. I'm like,

Emily: we know you don't.

Rah: there's surgeries for

Emily: I

Emily: know.

Rah: So news for me is that I am going to step away

Rah: from the

Rah: podcast,

Rah: which

Emily: but

Rah: I know it's not And um,

Rah: I'm putting too many gaps in which makes it sound like it's

Rah: difficult for me to articulate. when it's not, it's because I see so much potential of you.

Rah: two taking the lead. So to be

Rah: Super clear. Nothing is changing It's just that my voice won't be part of it, And I know

Emily: focus on too.

Rah: well, There's that.

Rah: also I see you two with the way that you've been talking about what started as just an experiment, for a few weeks and see what we came up

Emily: fucked around and

Rah: Yeah. Literally sitting at, was it at the buffet before we went and saw Juliet last year?

Christine: That's right.

Rah: right.

Rah: Shout out

Rah: to my favorite Musical producers within Australia. That's where I all came. from. Yep. So that $80 buffet dinner

Rah: with all the oysters and

Rah: slices of

Rah: pizza and cheese and so much

Emily: buffet again so

Rah: I know,

Rah: right? Yeah.

Rah: I keep fantasizing

Rah: about Going back.

Rah: and then I see the price and I'm like, oh, that's right. It

Rah: was a special occasion.

Emily: I actually tried to convince my husband to come see the Michael Jackson musical

Emily: with me. So we could go to

Rah: Have I told you guys about that yet?

Rah: No.

Rah: Okay.

Rah: I've seen it twice. I went to opening night as well.

Emily: I figured you would've. Fucking

Emily: I've heard it's really good.

Christine: good.

Rah: It's difficult because there's the whole story of.

Rah: mj.

Rah: Um,

Rah: And that legacy

Rah: and.

Rah: the hurt that he caused, however.

Rah: If you can pause

Rah: that and appreciate the talent of the people, on the stage. There's Australian people and there's American people. um, which I dare

Rah: say is part of a

Rah: stipulation of Michael's estate that,

Rah: you know, people, The adult Michael Jackson

Rah: character has to really

Rah: know how to be Michael.

Rah: And That guy, even the,

Rah: even the

Rah: guy

Emily: and he goes everywhere with it.

Rah: he's one of them. So they've got, they've opened on the West End.

Rah: they've done, broad or

Rah: still

Rah: doing Broadway, I think. Um,

Rah: So they've got multiples and we've got two, At least two

Rah: American from memory Americans here playing

Rah: Michael,

Rah: or mj, the adult

Rah: Michael.

Rah: fucking but the teenager, young adult. Michael is Australian.

Emily: Yeah, right.

Rah: Never done a show before. He was studying journalism. when He auditioned

Christine: Wow.

Rah: has now paused that so

Rah: he can perform On stage.

Christine: oh

Emily: That's awesome.

Christine: me.

Rah: Six nights a week or however nights a week that they perform these days. Yeah, right. And then there's the

Rah: little kid Who's like probably

Rah: Harry's age. like Jackson five.

Rah: Michael. And

Rah: he's, I know, they Don't do Ben,

Rah: but they do So many great songs.

Rah: Like They've got like someone who dances like Fred

Rah: Astaire, they've got Like, um,

Rah: all of the other old

Emily: I wanna see it more. Maybe I'll really

Rah: dancing is honestly

Rah: incredible. The cast is outstanding Some of the band is on state or the Yeah. orchestra. In musical sense. But the band. And Michael is working with them, so he's going

Rah: Hey guys, I think if you put this, piece in here and you go. Like, and then they start. And then they turn it into Thriller and

Rah: I'm like, oh fuck. Like that. Like they're showing

Rah: how stuff happens. Because this is the official

Rah: Michael

Rah: estate show. To the point where.

Rah: it's all come from his estate to the point where one of his kids, Prince

Rah: Jackson? Yes.

Rah: Who I remember when he was born and being,

Rah: you know, partied around or whatever. Yeah.

Rah: Um, he was there on opening night. I didn't realize until afterwards.

Rah: So it's Like It's canon.

Rah: Yeah. So Obviously it doesn't talk about the things that we are all.

Rah: conscious of, of what

Rah: Was alleged and I believed, But

Rah: it's all about what, you know, how he became who he was and why.

Rah: always striving

Rah: for more. yes. But

Rah: it's honestly, by the end it is legit a concert and you're up dancing. Well, opening night everyone was dancing. There was a standing ovation halfway through the

Rah: first act. was so good. like, so good. And you can tell the dancers love it, Like it's well worth going

Emily: If I can't push

Emily: him over the line, you're coming with me.

Rah: And

Rah: hard recommend as well Join the lottery ticket app. So if you go onto today, ticks, TIX, there's the

Rah: lottery and if you win, my sister won.

Rah: and we got to go for something.

Rah: like $45. Oh, that's cool. And we got the same seats that I like one row

Rah: behind. I think It

Rah: was for where I sat. for opening night.

Emily: That's awesome. Yeah, Whoop that.

Rah: So, yeah. Yeah. And the costumes are great. All the costumes were created in Australia. I met the Milliner, so she made the hat that Michael.

Rah: Yeah.

Rah: Um, she also did the RY for Hamilton so that was how I picked up on her. shout out to Bronwyn. Um, and so I was like, how did you feel when Michael threw the hat across the stage?

Rah: She said I was warned.

Emily: Need to be warned.

Rah: bless the socks.

Rah: Um, but yeah.

Rah: Incredible

Rah: So show. So

Rah: sorry. You can put Another mark

Rah: now to mark out

Rah: where I

Rah: stopped talking about it,

Rah: but yeah.

Rah: so you should go and see Michael.

Rah: Yeah.

Rah: Or mj, the musical,

Rah: it's great. Yeah. But um, yeah, so that night when we had

Rah: that dinner, who would've

Rah: thought that it.

Rah: would've a,

Rah: got a,

Rah: podcast at How many

Rah: episodes, Like cracking along and

Rah: then turned into the collective, turned into a conference

Rah: Multiple and

Rah: two conferences this year. And Yeah.

Rah: And So

Rah: It's

Rah: not something that I'd had

Rah: planned for this year

Rah: for like stepping away, or changing or pivoting,

Rah: Pivot. Pivot.

Rah: um,

Rah: even though we did recently do that episode about pivoting. Yeah. Um, but

Rah: There have

Rah: been just some sort of things that have been happening. behind the scenes where I was like, okay, I really need to go back and listen to that word that I'd set for

Rah: the year, which is so, which is what

Rah: we also talked about. on the, on our episode At the beginning of the year.

Rah: And I was like.

Rah: Okay. so SA is also,

Rah: it's not just about me.

Rah: soaring, but it's About letting things that are bigger than me

Rah: soaring. as well. And so that was a big sort of,

Rah: realization

Rah: of me not wanting to. step Away from hanging out with you guys, so, much as we do,

Rah: Um, but

Rah: also

Rah: You know

Rah: what we've been able to create, like the people that we've met, people That we've interviewed, the people we've had speak at the conference.

Christine: It's been marvelous,

Rah: all of that, but also is watching how you guys, because you two work together as

Rah: well in your own business.

Rah: seeing that energy to what this collective can do.

Rah: I

Rah: Realize that

Rah: if I cut that cord and remove myself or step back and you know,

Rah: cheer from the sidelines. which I'll.

Rah: a hundred percent be doing.

Rah: letting you guys just take those reins,

Rah: it's gonna soar. So you guys are gonna soar. the collective, the

Rah: podcast, the whole thing.

Rah: And

Rah: so as

Rah: weird as it

Rah: feels, now that I'm talking about it out loud properly, and not just to you two,

Rah: and not

Rah: just to the

Rah: cat, 'cause Cody.

Rah: was

Rah: involved with me thinking about

Rah: it at home and

Rah: He's, he head at me. He's got big ears. He's a good.

Rah: listener. Yeah, Exactly.

Rah: Um, but then

Rah: um,

Rah: you know, it's like, okay, this is, this is bigger than the sum of its parts, you know, with what, what we've started here and

Rah: Yeah,

Emily: well, hopefully the collective will turn

Emily: into something that's bigger.

Emily: than all of us altogether.

Emily: You know?

Rah: Well, and that's, yeah. And I think you guys, if I didn't have the trust of the skills, that you guys have and the vision that you've got, you know, then

Rah: I would have trouble stepping back. But because I've got so much faith,

Rah: in you two.

Rah: 'cause you are amazing. yeah. no

Emily: No

Emily: pressure.

Christine: No,

Rah: But as I've, As I've said so many times,

Rah: even on the recorded form, but even when I've had people going, oh, you've started like you're an independent person. Why are you working with other

Rah: people and doing a

Rah: podcast and doing a conference? And I'm like, I wouldn't do this with

Rah: the average Person. With

Rah: the average Joe or Joanna like,

Rah: no,

Rah: but with the right people who get it.

Rah: and have the same brain.

Christine: Yeah.

Rah: Whether it's diagnosed a DH, ADHD or not,

Rah: I dunno. Whatever it is that makes us work,

Emily: our.

Christine: we just do.

Rah: Exactly. Um,

Rah: Neuro. spicy, no. Um,

Rah: I promised I wasn't gonna become that person. Yeah,

Emily: Overused

Rah: Hashtag yeah. Drink every time someone says neuros spicy. these days, you be pissed All the time.

Rah: But yeah, so it's, I dunno, is bittersweet the right word where

Rah: I'm like,

Christine: it'd be a word I would say

Rah: because I've got feelings.

Rah: good

Christine: for you. Right. Um, to. I think it's such, you know, it's brave,

Emily: Yeah.

Christine: um, and it's important and to step back and focus so your stuff can soar. And, and I love how you described about it. Yes. Letting, letting the collective soar and. And everything, which is of obviously what we intend, um, for it to do.

Christine: And it is bittersweet because whilst we'll still hang out, we won't hang out as much, but I

Rah: it won't

Rah: necessarily be scheduled in the

Rah: calendar. with the level of detail that we currently do.

Rah: Yeah.

Rah: Don't need to Hire a studio.

Christine: No, that's right. That's right. But you know, we all know how to get onto Google Meet and have a coffee and connect to other, uh, other places.

Christine: But yeah, just to be able to really focus on what you need to

Rah: yeah,

Christine: um, is important.

Rah: And yeah, you

Rah: two have handled it

Rah: very well.

Rah: 'cause I

Rah: was shitting myself.

Rah: not gonna

Christine: I know you thought we'd gonna get out the, uh,

Rah: and

Rah: rage at me. Yeah, exactly. Yeah.

Rah: which I

Rah: wouldn't blame you to be honest, but

Emily: someone for making choices based on what? they need for their own wellbeing. and their own, you know, what's

Rah: And

Emily: Um,

Christine: no, no. You can't

Emily: what's that, word? what is that thing?

Emily: Oh, I'm having a

Emily: Mad blank. Um, it's when It's like your livelihood. That's it. Livelihood. Fuck. That took too long. yeah. You know, You have to. do What you gotta do.

Emily: And that's. So important. We all gotta do it,

Emily: you

Christine: And we have to actually really enjoy what we do. And I'm not saying that, you know, this isn't level of

Rah: I'm hating this right now,

Christine: but,

Christine: when you've got a lot of competing stuff and it starts mucking with your head and then the, then the shine starts to fall

Emily: And it also, like we all know, finances,

Emily: rule the world and we need to,

Emily: like we all, I mean.

Emily: I don't know if everyone else knows, but

Emily: This is not an income

Emily: generating thing for us.

Emily: Unfortunately. We would love it to be, and we're working towards

Emily: how that can happen. But

Emily: like, this is us giving up billable time. Yep. To

Emily: do this

Emily: and to

Emily: be here, and to run the conferences. And you know, our last conference where You know, this Melbourne one we're working on not, uh, being out of pocket for it, but like we have done a lot of stuff out of our own pocket and people I don't think, realize.

Emily: that so much. So it's not, you can never criticize anyone for needing to put your own stability and financial stability

Rah: Which is why when I hear people talk about other events that they go to or want to go to and they say they can't afford it and then they arc up about the,

Rah: price and I'm like, mate, you

Emily: you

Emily: don't know what goes on behind the

Rah: Yes. so much. You know,

Emily: don't get me wrong, we love what we do, but like a lot of the

Emily: stuff we end up doing is

Emily: if we can break.

Emily: even, we can break.

Emily: Like That would be best case. Best

Christine: be the best case.

Christine: AB absolutely.

Emily: and put on Something That's amazing.

Emily: but also fork out the money off upfront is it's really hard

Rah: Yeah.

Rah: and you put your heart and your soul into it. Yeah. Like it's Another extension.

Rah: of your business

Rah: soul of, you know,

Emily: as small business owners,

Emily: anyway, it's, everyone knows how hard it is to maintain an income from a small business.

Emily: it's such a,

Emily: cash flow is such a big problem.

Emily: and I feel like probably a lot of people at this current point in time with the election coming up and with all the

Emily: bullshit trump's is,

Emily: you know, most businesses have taken a hit. in some way, shape, or people are freaking out. and not wanting to Spend the money. So, and that

Emily: ricochet is to everything else.

Christine: Yeah. Everyone's looking through their bank balance, working out what they can shave off

Rah: Like I've got, yeah. I've got people

Rah: telling me that they've got,

Rah: you know, teams

Rah: that, you know,

Rah: they've

Rah: got

Rah: departments where they're gonna have to cut

Rah: four people out of their

Rah: eight person.

Rah: team. And I'm

Christine: Yeah. Yeah.

Rah: fuck.

Rah: And that's only after, I think it's

Rah: something like

Rah: three

Rah: to five months of

Rah: downturn. the business and That's all

Rah: it took.

Emily: Yeah. And that's really scary. So very whilst we're def devastatingly sad

Emily: to not have you with us

Emily: every episode.

Emily: We

Rah: still be listening. Oh.

Emily: And you, I'm, I'm, we're gonna coax you back in for the odd

Emily: thing anyway. So, Um, but Chris and I have decided during this, because of all the changes, we thought we might continue the changes Really.

Emily: And

Rah: a haircut.

Emily: Yeah. You know, color put some color in it. Um, we decided to.

Emily: rebrand.

Emily: The podcast a little bit. as much as we're all very desperately

Emily: love our fuck around

Emily: and find out,

Rah: And we've had many discussions about the, the, the swears in it. It's

Emily: been an ongoing thing for, For since we started

Rah: questioning and logic checking all the way through I remember having Conversations in car parks in the middle of the night.

Rah: Sounds like We do lots

Rah: of things when we're out, but yeah.

Emily: we do. Yeah. Um, but we have decided to rebrand it because we had gotten.

Emily: a lot of commentary around the fact that the swearing was, it can be a bit polarizing.

Emily: Fair enough. Understand that. Um, so we have come up with a new name.

Emily: for it.

Emily: Would you like to announce a name?

Christine: Oh my goodness me. I hope I don't get it wrong 'cause it's so new and exciting.

Emily: I know. That's why I asked you to do it.

Christine: Thank

Christine: you very much. There em, so

Rah: up and find,

Rah: out No.

Emily: Jokes.

Christine: um, so we are rebranding to

Emily: it applause

Rah: barbecue

Christine: for those listening, uh, RA's phone just

Rah: sorry. That's my A

Emily: perfect timing.

Rah: Yep.

Emily: At the perfect timing.

Christine: Um, collective Conversations,

Emily: we are

Christine: the Women in Business podcast.

Rah: love it. So

Emily: we haven't tweaked it too much.

Emily: it's more just true.

Emily: We wanted to realign everything,

Emily: under the Women in Business Collective,

Emily: um, to have more, um, streamlined branding. between

Christine: Yeah, absolutely.

Emily: And and pull it all under the collective.

Emily: um,

Emily: I guess overarching

Emily: house.

Emily: slash brand slash company. So

Emily: That is what we will be called. and We're gonna change up our format. slightly as Well 'cause we do very much love.

Emily: the dynamic of three

Emily: people. So we thought we'd get a bit creative and have um,

Emily: it's, I mean we'll tease it up based on

Emily: availability Of people and stuff like that, but We thought we might bring in every episode a guest host. Um, to. Fill the TTO shoes that RA has left behind they have to have a personality. Yeah. And You want 'em to wear gigantic. shoes?

Rah: Um,

Rah: well, I was gonna say,

Rah: you gonna give them a purple wig?

Emily: oh my God, we should, That would be so funny.

Christine: purple. Even if it's a headband.

Emily: Oh, I love

Rah: Or a corsage.

Emily: No, we need to make a badge with your face on it.

Emily: and make them wear that.

Rah: If only on you,

Emily: that would be,

Emily: that would be

Emily: so funny.

Christine: yes.

Emily: in spirit of rice

Emily: or something.

Emily: We have to table that.

Rah: fo fo rah.

Rah: Yeah. Yep.

Christine: Yeah. So not only a

Rah: understudy. Yeah. Cover.

Emily: we need to

Emily: get a cardboard cut. outta her.

Christine: Oh,

Rah: No.

Christine: yeah. No.

Emily: that would be so funny.

Rah: At my

Rah: old job, we

Rah: had a cardboard cut out of John Bonjovi. Because,

Rah: Yeah. because Well, Val's obsessed with JBJ forever and ever.

Rah: Amen. I still send her

Rah: every John Bonjovi meme that I

Rah: find. Um,

Rah: and we had it in the office back in the days when we had an office. And

Rah: if

Rah: you were the first to open the door in the morning and you'd forgotten And you'd go, oh my God, who's that man?

Emily: a buzz.

Rah: like, it's just John. And then sometimes we'd move him. and he'd behind the cupboard on the way to the toilet.

Rah: or whatever. Yeah.

Rah: But now he

Rah: Yeah.

Rah: Yeah.

Emily: Oh, note to I remember that. I want a cardboard cut outta you

Emily: for shits and giggles.

Emily: Um, but yeah, so we've decided to grab a lovely guest host

Emily: for, um, ep, some episodes that we can,

Emily: and then have a guest.

Emily: speaker as well. So I think Chris and I will do less of just us.

Emily: Yeah.

Emily: Um, just 'cause no one wants to hear just the two of us rant. Chris and I are so on the same wavelength.

Emily: It's not gonna be much of a

Emily: rant

Rah: no, No,

Rah: difference of opinion.

Christine: it won't

Emily: We thought that we love the dynamic of extra personalities in the room. So we've

Emily: Got some ideas

Emily: up our sleeves with people already

Rah: and by the time this is aired, I'm sure those. Ideas would be

Rah: put into

Rah: place.

Emily: Yeah. Yeah. Exactly right. So that is, uh, our current, current news for people.

Emily: We absolutely adore

Emily: the Lovely. rah, but girls gotta do What a girls gotta do? You know,

Emily: and you will be around.

Rah: I'll still be

Christine: Oh God. Yeah.

Rah: Coming to conferences and.

Emily: imparting your badass AI

Emily: knowledge on people.

Rah: Well, we shall see. AI may be taking,

Rah: over the world by the time.

Rah: we get to the

Emily: It's entirely

Christine: yeah, it probably will. Yes.

Rah: I

Rah: forget the Name of the series

Rah: that we're watching, but it's all about, or was it a movie?

Rah: Everything's a blur. I know I'm double Screening

Rah: all the time when we're watching tv, but something like a, um, oh, it was the Mission Impossible movie, so everyone's already seen it, but it was new to Netflix on

Rah: the weekend, so We watched it.

Rah: Um,

Rah: dating

Rah: when we were recording this, but um, yeah, it was all about ai.

Rah: that became sentient

Rah: and separated from, created

Emily: about that for ages.

Emily: Like, there's that one with Megan Fox and.

Emily: Michael. Monroe, the, I mean, whatever his name is, the really hot guy from 3 6 5.

Emily: Um, And she played

Emily: like an AI assistant robot

Emily: that Oh,

Christine: oh, yes. I've seen the, the, the trailer.

Rah: Megan one,

Rah: Megan

Christine: no, she's the evil,

Rah: Oh, that's the evil one.

Emily: she's bloody evil and they're making a new one. of that.

Emily: Yeah. And then, I mean, if you go as far back as the one with Will Smith in it, all those years ago.

Christine: yeah. Well there was iRobot. Yeah. Yeah. And then there was ai, the very first one that was

Emily: thing is we have AI now so

Emily: much

Rah: I am the ai.

Emily: If There's

Emily: two things I think might actually, eventuate it could be that, and it also

Emily: could be Handmaid's Tale.

Emily: I

Emily: like that's not too

Rah: America's heading that way. Just quietly, But,

Emily: But, Um, yes. There's so much going. on, but Yeah. that's,

Christine: So watch this space.

Emily: yeah. There's, there's

Rah: love the new name
